In this sequel Ash and his former group separate, given the harsh circumstances. In this book we are given a whole new perspective of Ashley Xavier's evolution as a young man. The narrative concentrates mainly on the mental/psychological changes that are slowly transmuting our main character. Through adversity and being chased by a demonic reptilian-man called Ludwig, Ash slowly morphs into a warrior, of a spectrum we can only predict.
Again, character development is one of this Saga's strengths, a quality Maternowski dominates skilfully.
Imaginative and creative, this book's action is impressive, as it is unpredictable and delightful.
